Community Involvement

When NOVA Music Center opened in December 2010 our intention was to serve the community and to advocate for music. Since opening, NOVA Music has worked with local and national charities; supported organizations to promote music in schools; and sponsored events to promote music in our community. We work with Hungry for Music to provide instruments for schools as far away as Alaska.

We sponsor free jam events that provide food and direction. Our bi-weekly acoustic open jam became so crowded that we had to expand to weekly. We added an electric blues jam and a bluegrass jam. Our jams are all ages but we also host kid only jams.

Two Saturdays a month, NOVA Music offers its space to create a safe environment for new young bands to build an audience in a drug and drink free environment.

NOVA Music participates with the Prince William Chamber of Commerce, Manassas Historic Society, and Manassas Old Town Business Association, among others. We support the efforts of The Manassas Arts Council, Historic Manassas Inc, the Town of Clifton Gala, Ducks Unlimited, National Ovarian Cancer Coalition, The Fairfax Symphony, many local school programs including supporting a program to put computers in schools, an Instrument Petting Zoo, and we hold in-store shows and demonstrations for preschool kids.
